Koderah (Kody)

I sat back in my crate. I had just finished off the little bit off food that I had been given, still starving. I looked around the lab room we all were in. There were the usual six other crates there, all containing a kids that had been “tampered with” by the stupid scientists in the f***ing clean white lab coats.

I sighed and looked at the two cages across from me that contained what looked to be twins. Looking down at my bare feet that were uncomfortably smashed into the side of the crate that was probably a size medium when I most likely needed at least an extra large to fit my 5’7” self in comfortably. I played with one of the straps to the Tripp pants that Lily had stolen for me while I unwillingly thought about my past.

I was a Japanese-American girl of about 15 years. I had been taken into this facility called the Academy of Advanced Sciences AAS for short, or just the School to all us mutants. After having been taken they had made 2% bird, crow if you want to be all technical. Ever since, me and my ‘buddies’ in the crates around me had been forced into being the guinea pigs for their lab experiments. Over time all of us had developed a ‘power’, except for the one that I knew to be Sam, who has two. My power is complicated and strange. Easily put though I could control computers.

I sighed again and glanced up as Dr. Egz crept in to check on us before going back out the door which closed with that annoying wooshing sound.

“You know,” I started talking to nobody in particular, but anybody who bothered to listen.

“This is really starting to get on my nerves. Shouldn’t there be some way of escape?” My remark was met by silence and tired, have starved bird kids looked back at me with their sunken eyes.
