Lily's Story

Ok, here goes.

"You have got to be kidding me," I muttered.

I was looking at the measly food provided for me. Sitting in my undersized crate at the Academy of Advanced Sciences in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, I had been increasingly hungry for the last three hours, and all they brought me was one freaking piece of bread and a slice of cheese. Once the scientist who had brought me food (Dr. Bacon, coinky-dink eh?) was gone, I used my telekinetic powers to steal his lunch from Subway. The loser actually thought I was going to survive on such insubstantial food. Idiot.

I should probably explain what I'm doing at a top-secret facility in Nowhere, Canada. I was taken from my parents as an infant so that evil scientists could screw around with my DNA. Using amneosentesis (dunno if I spelled that right), they grafted bird genes into me. Now, I was 98% British human and 2% Ferruginous hawk. The scientists messed with the DNA after I was born to give me wings.

That is the short, slightly less painful version of my life so far. Stuck in a crate, fifteen years old, and with telekinetic powers. If you know of something weirder, please let me know.

Anyways, back to the present.

The girl in the crate next to me, Koderah, pointed. "Lily! Look at his pants!" I glanced over and saw Dr. Live wearing what I knew to be Tripp pants. Kody was looking at them mischeviously. "We should steal 'em," she said.

"D'you want me to do it?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "If you wanna."

"Why not?" I said. "Let's wait 'til he comes out of the locker room."

A few minutes later, Dr. Live emerged from the locker room in lab uniform. With my mind, I rolled up the pants as small as I could, hoping they wouldn't be noticed. I edged them into our lab room and toward Kody's crate. Carefully, I squeezed them through the bars and dropped them.

"Thanks, Lily!" said Kody gleefully, pulling on the Tripp pants.

"No problem," I replied, grinning.
